Default Which class to focus on.

So I've been having a hard time deciding which character to focus on lately, and I decided I'd save myself the trouble and have the Guru crowd make the decision for me. Or provide enough opinions to make my peer pressure-induced decision myself.

So at the moment, after much deleting and rerolling, I have four characters left as final candidates. They are,

Animus Eversius - Ritualist
Aeturus Eversius - Elementalist
Vindicus Eversius - Ranger
Terek Reidmann - Paragon

So, to outline the various character/class specifics:

Animus Eversius, Ritualist
--Pros
----Most time spent on him.
----Can solo farm.
----Nice armour sets. (Both the class in general, and number I've gotten for him.)
----Is a caster, and can wield caster weapons.
----Single most flexible class in the game.
----Canthan.
--Cons
----Ritualists are not popular amongst groups.
----Ritualists are misliked by many people.
----May not make it to Gw2

Aeturus Eversius, Elementalist
--Pros
----Elementalists are liked amongst most groups.
----Can farm in some teams.
----ArenaNet likes them.
----Nice armour sets on the class.
----Caster, and thus can wield caster weapons.
----Very likely will make it to Gw2.
----Canthan.
----Have invested time in him.
--Cons
----Not very well liked amongst the physicals supporters?
----Limited in functions.

Vindicus Eversius, Ranger.
--Pros
----Fun class.
----Trenchcoats.
----Canthan.
----High survivability.
Cons
----One of the less popular classes.
----May or may not make it to Gw2.
----Would not normally use caster weapons.

Terek Reidmann, Paragon
--Pros
----Fun class.
----Insanely imbalanced.
----Insanely high survivability.
----Insanely powerful.
----There are some who love Paragons and want to have their children, so to speak.
--Cons
----Cannot use caster weapons.
----Not many armour sets.
----What armour the Paragon does have, lacks variation, and only a few sets (to me) look good.
----Elonian.
----Very unlikely to make it to Gw2.
----There are many who despise Paragons and want to kill their children, so to speak.

So... these brief characteristics stated, basically I am trying to decide on which to focus on. And which one will likely have the greatest amount of PvE application (disregard any PvP qualities here because I use PvP-only characters for that). Probably the paragon has the greatest amount of PvE application, but still. And also trying to find a balance between usefulness and appearance.

Before people tell me to choose whichever one I find the most fun - I already find them all very fun, to roughly equal levels. Basically looking on suggestions as to which one you, the guru browsers, feel is the best choice overall. (A note - I included the mention of caster weapons because I have a fondness of classes that can use any manner of caster modded weapon instead of being limited by attribute.) I hope that even those of you who think this thread is stupid (which it may be) will at least have the good grace to say something about it, even if it's just the class. Obviously the more details on your reasoning, the better.

Ranger is really the most flexible class...

But anyway, don't be worried about PuGs not accepting -- they're bad anyway, and even H/H are retarded but make 10 times better candidates.

I would preferably go with Paragon. One look at Leadership and Spears will say why. Along with unremovable buffs to boot. SY/TNTF for PvE.

I'd say ranger because it requires you to study the enemy skills and know the ones that are gonna hurt your team, provided you bring interrupts.

Mmm, that reminds me to mention that if I want to do elite areas I pretty much need to join a pickup group, since ArenaNet is still being obstinate about removing the hero cap and I lack a guild.

I've been through dozens of guilds and found none that I've been able to stay in. The only one I ever liked enough to stay with to the end was Reversed Insanity, but they disbanded.

Edit:
And how is "Cannot use caster weapons" a con for Paragon?

And Paragon looks will grow on you...not physically, but you will get used to it. Personally, I think Paragons look WAAAY better than Warriors. I can honestly say that my Paragon is one of my best looking characters...second to my Necromancer though, black skin, white hair + Ancient armor is the own for Necromancers.

As I've said, I like being able to use caster modded martial weapons, or caster weapons, etc. Whereas Paragons are limited to spears for most builds. Which is fine, but gets a bit dull.

Indeed, Paragons look quite better than Warriors. I do wish they had real helmets, though, and less of the impractical gaps in their armour. And less of the lack of proper leg protection. Etc.

Ele...just because of the complete pwnage they can cause. But if you want to become the greatest damage negater out there, theres nothing compared to a para.

my most played class atm is my paragon. it is the most fun I have had on GW since release. use TNTF/SY for party support, and your party will <3 you. use cruel spear+blazing spear+holy spear+anthem of flame, and no one will doubt your damage ability ever again.

PUG's are noobs and will never accept that a paragon is better than their 12 healing prayers wammo build, so don't worry about that. get a guild and they will love you for your para, and your rit for that matter. PUGs just epic fail at life generally

That is a useless post and not welcomed here.

I already know that statistically the Paragon is superior to all other classes due to balance issues. I'm asking opinions on which character to focus on, not "i herd pve wus ez, hur hur" bullshit. If you can't read my original post then don't post.

The good of u having a paragon is that theres no excuse to go "ursan this or that".

But u need to get in a reasonable guild, with some experienced players and then start to convince them that paragons are good, like doing GoM bonus killing shiro first, and playing nm with only one monk and such.

Other than that both Warriors and Necros were always good fun to me. SS is fun and FoC'ing the enemy is even more

FYI: Rangers will be in GW2. The "Core 4" templates (Warrior, Elemental, Monk, Ranger, the core 4 functions of Melee, Blasting, Healing, and Ranged) are safe.

Beyond that, play what you enjoy, and if you need a better guild, find one. It shouldn't be too hard to find a guild that will help you out in HM stuff. I'm in a small guild and it's fairly easy to find people who will help.

Paragon if you want to C-Space all of PvE without having to think, ever.

However, for you - I'd say go Rit, he's your most developed character and likely the one you enjoy playing the most (I'm assuming)
Plus, their casting and attack animations are omgasmic.
And if you get really bored, you can pull out a sword or spear and tear stuff up as a Spirit's Strength warrior.

I know that it's not listed on your list to choose from, but I'd vote necro. I wish I used this class sooner, so I could concentrate on maxing its titles, instead of focusing on other classes.

I'd like to point out that Paragons, and parties with Paragons, are boring as ****. So if you're concerned about something other than straight practical superiority, they're not necessarily the best choice. From an appearance standpoint (since you mentioned that as a point of consideration), they do get the nice ethereal wing animations on their chants - if that happens to be your thing. If not, they have nothing to recommend them.

I'd go with Stormlord's recommendation and play Rit. Their only real disadvantage is that you'll never be able to find a group, but that shouldn't be high on your list of priorities anyway.

You forgot that paragons have the best FoW of any class. Ever.

I would like to thank Stormlord Alex and Burst Cancel for reminding me to go back to my Ritualist; it is a decision I have settled on in the end.
